I was just reading the news and came across this article. I could totally understand how upset the new mother is. Why would the husband call his mother to come help knowing that his wife has requested to not see anybody? Knowing that his wife wanted to be the first to hold her new baby? Knowing that there was probably friction with his mother before? How can a husband be so insensitive to his wife's feelings and needs? How could this husband turn to his mother for help rather than taking care of things himself? Why would he not hold his baby? I think we all know the problem, he is mother enmeshed and totally disregards the feelings of his wife. He wants mom to be happy, doesn't care about his wife's wishes, needs, or feelings. This is something that will leave a large deep wound for the wife, at her most vulnerable moment she was betrayed and thrown under the bus by the person whom you'd expect to love her the most.

I can totally see how my MEM would have done this. All the while telling me that the mother in law did it out of love. She cares and wanted to help. It is turned around that the new mother is the ungrateful and one at fault for being upset. She should be grateful and happy that the mother in law stepped in. I feel the new mother's pain. At the most vulnerable moment being thrown under the bus with nobody there to support her, to stand up for her, to fight for her. Her man is only fighting for his mother. I can totally see how my MEM would have done the same. What a hell the spouses of MEM go through alone and lonely.
